INTEGRATED CHILD DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM [ICDP], KOLPING AND PITZAL - THEJAS 2026

THEJAS is a educational support programme of Tiruvalla Social Service Society (TSSS) Bodhana, dedicated to improving the educational opportunities of children from vulnerable and economically disadvantaged families. The programme is implemented with the generous support of donors and well-wishers from Germany and Switzerland . Our Vision is To ensure that every child has access to quality education and the opportunity to achieve their full potential, regardless of their socio-economic background. 800+ children receive educational assistance and support annually. Children enrolled in the programme receive essential educational materials that help them attend school regularly and participate actively in their studies and Financial support is provided to selected students to help them continue their education without interruption.

MEDICARE

MEDICARE is a Medical  Support project of Tiruvalla Social Service Society (TSSS), Bodhana that supports economically vulnerable individuals suffering from chronic illnesses and bedridden conditions within our operational area. The programme serves beneficiaries irrespective of caste, creed, gender, or religion, ensuring equal access to assistance and care . To reduce the financial burden of long-term medical treatment and improve the quality of life of community peoples. MEDICARE beneficiaries gather during the first week of every month for programme activities and support services. These meetings provide an opportunity for beneficiaries to receive assistance, interact with one another, and participate in educational sessions. As part of the programme, awareness classes are conducted regularly on various topics, including: Health and personal hygiene, Management of chronic diseases, Nutrition and healthy lifestyles, Mental health and emotional well-being, Care and support for bedridden patients etc.   

MEDHOPE

MEDHOPE is conducted every month to ensure continuous support for individuals and families affected by chronic diseases. Monthly meetings are organized where beneficiaries receive financial assistance, participate in health awareness sessions, and interact with healthcare resource persons and community members.These regular monthly activities help beneficiaries stay informed about disease management, healthy lifestyles, preventive healthcare practices, and available support services. The programme also provides a platform for sharing experiences, building mutual support, and strengthening community well-being. Through its monthly interventions, MEDHOPE continues to provide hope, care, and essential support to vulnerable individuals and families, helping them lead healthier and more dignified lives.

STUDENT EDUCATION SUPPORT PROGRAMME

TSSS Bodhana implemented the Student Education Support Programme across its operational areas, including Niranam, Punalur, and Ranni, to support children from economically disadvantaged families. As part of the initiative, school kits were distributed to 500 students to help them begin the academic year with essential learning materials. To motivate students to pursue their education with confidence and improve their academic performance.

INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY FOR ELDERS

TSSS Bodhana organized an International Yoga Day celebration for elderly to promote healthy ageing and overall well being. The programme included yoga sessions, breathing exercises, and simple stretching activities suitable for senior citizens. The programme also created an opportunity for participants to interact, share experiences, and strengthen social connections. 

INDIAN FARMERS MOVEMENT (INFAM) AND WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY CELEBRATION

INFAM (Indian Farmers Movement) is a voluntary farmers’ organization that works for the welfare, empowerment, and rights of farmers. It aims to unite farmers, promote sustainable agriculture, protect farmers’ interests, and address issues affecting the agricultural sector. The programme works closely with farmers across Bodhana’s operational areas, providing a platform for collective action, knowledge sharing, and advocacy on issues affecting the agricultural sector. Through a network of farmer groups and unit-level committees, INFAM encourages farmers to work together to address common challenges, improve agricultural practices, and safeguard their livelihoods.The main objectives is to Protect and promote the rights and interests of farmers.

As part of the Environmental Day, tree were distributed to all participants. To reinforce the importance of environmental conservation, the participants collectively planted tree in the Bodhana campus.The programme highlighted the significance of protecting the environment and encouraged farmers and community members to adopt sustainable practices for a greener and healthier future.

NO TOBACCO DAY MARATHON

Bodhana organized a Marathon as part of the World No Tobacco Day awareness campaign. The event was conducted with the objective of promoting a healthy, tobacco-free lifestyle and creating awareness about the harmful effects of tobacco consumption. The program with an inaugural and flag-off ceremony led by Rev. Dr. Issac Parappalil, Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Thiruvalla. Participants were inspired by the keynote address delivered by Mr. Jobin K. George, Tahsildar of Thiruvalla. 

COUNSELLING CELL INAGURATION AND MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS PROGRAMME

The Estate Counselling Cell and Mental Health Awareness Programme is an initiative of TSSS Bodhana implemented in collaboration with estate management to promote mental health awareness and provide counselling support for estate workers and their families. Through counselling services, awareness sessions, and interactive activities, the programme encourages individuals to seek help when facing personal or emotional challenges. Key Activities,Individual and family counselling support, Mental health awareness and education sessions, Stress management and well-being workshops,Interactive activities and community engagement programmes, Referral and support services for individuals requiring professional assistance.The programme contributes to improved emotional well-being, healthier workplace relationships, and increased awareness about mental health. 

By providing counselling support and promoting a culture of care, it helps strengthen employee welfare and foster healthier communities.

WOMEN’S DAY CELEBRATION

Bodhana celebrate the International Women’s Day programme “Give to Gain” to the achievements of women and promote awareness on gender equality, leadership, health, and empowerment. The programme brought together women, students, community members for a meaningful celebration that highlighted the vital role of women in building strong families and communities. Through motivational talks, cultural performances, and interactive activities, participants were encouraged to recognize their potential and contribute confidently to society.

ASHAKIRANAM

Ashakiranam is a healthcare support initiative of Bodhana dedicated to promoting cancer prevention, early detection, and patient care. The project seeks to address the growing incidence of cancer and other health challenges associated with changing lifestyles, unhealthy dietary habits, environmental pollution, and lack of health awareness. Through awareness programmes, preventive interventions, and support services, Ashakiranam aims to improve the health and well-being of individuals and families while providing hope and care to those affected by cancer.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

The Entrepreneurship Development Programme is a livelihood promotion initiative of Bodhana aimed at empowering individuals through skill development, self-employment opportunities, and sustainable income-generation activities. As part of this programme, Beekeeping and Mushroom Cultivation Training is provided to equip participants with practical knowledge and technical skills in sustainable agriculture-based enterprises. 

The training covers modern beekeeping practices, honey production, scientific mushroom cultivation methods, farm management, and marketing strategies. Through hands on training, demonstrations, and capacity-building sessions, participants gain the confidence and expertise required to establish and manage their own small-scale enterprises

BEE KEEPING

Honey, a natural food and medicine product, is a prime product in Bodhana’s honey research and training center. With over 2000 bee keeping farmers in the area, the department conducts monthly training programs and exhibitions to increase the number of bee farmers and generate income for targeted community members. These programs empower local farmers to start bee keeping and honey production. 

Self Help Groups (SHG)

The Self Help Group (SHG) is an important community development initiative of Bodhana aimed at promoting social and economic empowerment among rural communities. Through the formation and strengthening of Self Help Groups, Bodhana encourages savings, mutual support, financial inclusion, and sustainable livelihood development. Bodhana is actively facilitating the formation of new SHGs across its operational areas to strengthen community participation and improve the socio economic conditions of vulnerable families. 

ACADEMIC EXPOSURE & INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME

TSSS Bodhana regularly welcomes school and college students for educational visits and internship programmes. Students from disciplines such as BSW, MSW, Commerce, Business Studies, Environmental Studies, Social Sciences, Journalism, and other academic streams gain practical exposure to the organization’s development initiatives. During their visits, they learn about various departments, including Natural Resource Management (NRM), Bodhisree, community development projects, livelihoods, women’s empowerment, and other social service programmes, helping them connect classroom learning with real world practice.

BODHISREE MARKETING NETWORK

Bodhisree Development Society is a Bodhana venture promoting sustainable farming through training in beekeeping, honey procurement, processing, and marketing. Bodhisree Marketing Network promotes and facilitates the marketing of Bodhana’s products and services, with three shops in the main office. The department assists in entrepreneurship development, buying back, and marketing of commodities produced by Bodhana farmers, supporting new entrepreneurial initiatives.

HONEY LEGACY

Honey Legacy is a premium customized gift set introduced by Bodhisree Development Society. It features a selection of high-quality natural honey products, carefully packed in an elegant gift box. Customers can personalize the contents based on their preferences, making it an ideal gift for weddings, birthdays, festivals, corporate events, and other special occasions. Honey Legacy combines health, tradition, and thoughtful gifting in one unique package.

AGMARK BIO LABORTAORY

Bodhana operates a well-functioning Agmark Bio Laboratory that provides quality testing services, primarily focusing on water testing, soil testing, and honey testing. The laboratory plays a vital role in supporting farmers and ensuring the quality and safety of agricultural products.In addition to testing services, the laboratory is actively involved in mushroom spawn culture production and the manufacture of organic manure, promoting sustainable and eco-friendly agricultural practices. Through these activities, the Bio Laboratory contributes significantly to improving agricultural productivity, environmental conservation, and the livelihoods of farming communities.

BODHANA WATER FILTER

Acute shortage of drinking water could be considered as one of the causes for which the world may resort to another war. Despite having an abundance of water in Kerala, the problems associated with the availability of adequate quantity of good quality drinking water is terrifyingly increasing. Different models of filter with varying storage capacities have been developed by Bodhana. Those are cylinder filter, motor filter, Home Stead filter, Chamber filter, Immersing filter & Sanitary filters.

RAIN WATER HARVESTING (RWH)

Rain Water Harvesting is the process of collecting rain water, filtering it and  storing it for multiple uses. The importance at Rain Water Harvesting is the fact that, it can be stored  for future use.

WASTE MANAGEMENT PROGRAMME

Bodhana initiates many low cost waste disposal techniques. The waste not only pollutes the environment but also triggers the spread at different communicable diseases. 

SOLVE EARTH - SOLAR INSTALLATION & AWARENESS PROJECT

As part of the Solve Earth Project, we successfully promoted the adoption of clean energy by facilitating the installation of low-cost solar panels in households, ensuring beneficiaries could access all available government subsidies and support schemes. Alongside the installations, our expert team conducted periodic awareness sessions across communities, educating residents on the importance of renewable energy and the long-term environmental and economic benefits of solar power. This initiative not only reduced household energy expenses but also marked a significant step toward building a more sustainable and energy efficient future.
